Should I buy my own building materials ?
Do You Have A Project We Can Help You With?
Should I buy my own building materials ?
In this blog we will look into why we feel that its a bad idea for you to provide (some) building materials also which ones we feel the client should supply with our help and advise of course.
1: The Domino Effect of Delays:
Construction projects unfold in stages carefully planned before the works begin, each phase with its own crucial role. In the event of material delays, the consequence is not only an inconvenience in the waiting; it triggers a knock-on effect, disrupting the meticulously planned works schedule and resulting in timley delays .
3.Downtime:
Time, an invaluable resource in construction, it becomes a depreciating asset during downtime. The downtime of a skilled workforce ready for action due to delayed materials leads to a financial loss – this loss will need to be compensated for by the persons responsible for the materials.
4.Scheduling:
In the scheduling complexity of construction, each component plays a role. Material delays upset the scheduling of tasks and timelines, adversely affecting the coordination of our trades. Timely material delivery is a paramount for maintaining the progression of the project.
5. Weathering the Storm:
Materials, are sensitive to environmental factors. Delayed arrivals expose them to the elements, potentially compromising their structural integrity. The aftermath may entail not only project delays but additional expenditures for replacements.
6. Storage Strategies:
The construction site is a meticulously organized stage optimized for efficiency. When clients assume responsibility for material storage, the site organization and safety may encounter challenges.
7. Stress-Free :
A well-coordinated construction process mirrors a stress-free experience. Delays and operational disruptions introduce stress factors for both the builders and clients. Our preference is running and managing a site were efficiency is top priority along with minimal stress factors; control the controllable.
8. what should the client supply with our help:
We understand that ‘home is where the heart is’ that’s why when it comes to supplying the finishing touches i.e floor coverings, kitchens or bathroom suites; we encourage our client to visit some of our trusted suppliers show rooms and choose the design they desire. We are happy to supply from our suppliers; alternatively happy for our client to supply and install labour only.
In summary, the foundation of a successful construction project not only relies on the physical presence of materials but in the strategic organisation of them too.
At TJD-BUILD, were not only builders but conductors of operational precision and construction excellence.
